چکیده

We answer a question posed by Lambert and Slater [7]. Consider a sequence of real numbers qn in the interval [0, 1] defined by q0 = 0, q1 = 1, and, for n ≥ 1, qn+1 equals an average of preceding terms in the sequence. The weights used in the average are provided by a triangular array pn,k of probabilities whose row sums are 1. What is the limiting behavior of a sequence qn so defined? For the Lambert-Slater sequence the weight pn,k is the probability that a randomly chosen fixed-point free mapping of [n + 1] omits exactly k elements from its image. To gain some insight into this averaging process, we first analyze what happens with a simpler array of weights pn,k defined in terms of binomial coefficients. One of our theorems states that if the weights pn,k are closely concentrated and the sequence qn exhibits oscillatory behavior up to a certain computable point, then it will exhibit oscillatory behavior from then on. We carry out the computations necessary to verify that the Lambert-Slater sequence satisfies the hypotheses of the latter theorem. A result on martingales [1] is used to prove the close concentration of the weights pn,k. AMS-MOS Subject Classification (1990): 05A16, 60C05, 60G46

MIXED VARIATIONAL INCLUSIONS INVOLVING INFINITE FAMILY OF FUZZY MAPPINGS

In this paper, we introduce and study a mixed variational inclusion problem involving infinite family of fuzzy mappings. An iterative algorithm is constructed for solving a mixed variational inclusion problem involving infinite family of fuzzy mappings and the convergence of iterative sequences generated by the proposed algorithm is proved. Some illustrative examples are also given.

New hybrid method for equilibrium problems and relatively nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces

In this paper, applying hybrid projection method, a new modified Ishikawa iteration scheme is presented for finding a common element of the solution set of an equilibrium problem and the set of fixed points of relatively nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. A numerical example is given and the numerical behaviour of the sequences generated by this algorithm is compared with several existence...

Flight Path Angle Steering with Lambert Guidance Reference

In this paper a new guidance technique for ballistic missiles and launch vehicles is proposed. Generally the Lambert guidance is used to generate missile nominal (correlated) parameters through powered flight to put it in a ballistic flight path. Because of uncertainties and undesired factors, the nominal position and velocity obtained by Lambert technique need to be followed in actual flight. ...

The KKT optimality conditions for constrained programming problem with generalized convex fuzzy mappings

The aim of present paper is to study a constrained programming with generalized $alpha-$univex fuzzy mappings. In this paper we introduce the concepts of $alpha-$univex, $alpha-$preunivex, pseudo $alpha-$univex and $alpha-$unicave fuzzy mappings, and we discover that $alpha-$univex fuzzy mappings are more general than univex fuzzy mappings. Then, we discuss the relationships of generalized $alp...
